nchu research team behind the technology transfer of diamond quantum biotech co.,ltd. wins technology transfer cooperation award at the taipei biotech awards

The Taipei Biotech Awards ceremony was held on September 24th, where Professor Tzu-Bi Huang from the Department of Plant Pathology at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) and her team won the Excellence Award in the Technology Transfer Cooperation category for their project titled "The Diverse Applications of Carbon-Neutral Probiotics in Agricultural Green Circulation." This is the only team to receive an award in the field of agricultural biotechnology. DIAMOND QUANTUM BIOTECH CO.,LTD. is honored to be a part of this collaboration and looks forward to further promoting the application of this technology to support sustainable agricultural development.

The NCHU team brought together experts from various fields, including plant health, livestock and aquaculture farming, and circular agriculture, to successfully develop Bacillus (strain 151B1), isolated from Taiwan’s local environment. This strain produces various decomposing enzymes and antimicrobial lipopeptides, forming biofilms around crop roots. It helps increase the production of strawberries, cucumbers, cabbages, tomatoes, passion fruits, and tea by overcoming challenges such as disease, drought, and flooding, while also reducing the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. In addition to helping crops resist extreme weather, this technology enhances carbon sequestration in plants.

Furthermore, the probiotics developed by the NCHU team can also be applied to livestock and aquaculture, such as pigs, chickens, and fish/shrimp farming, significantly improving growth rates, increasing immunity, and enhancing the overall farming environment, promoting the development of the livestock and aquaculture industries.

DIAMOND QUANTUM BIOTECH CO.,LTD. has already launched PowerGrow, a liquid organic fertilizer made from the fermentation of the 151B1 strain, with the aim of promoting soil health and crop growth. In addition, the company plans to release two new phosphate-solubilizing bacterial fertilizers this year: PowerGrow P (powder form) and PowerGrow A+ (liquid form), offering farmers diverse choices to meet different agricultural needs. Alongside these innovations in agriculture, the company is actively entering the feed additive market and is currently applying for relevant certifications. The company plans to further expand into the livestock and aquaculture industries, using these products to promote more efficient and sustainable production.
