The 5th Taichung City Low Carbon Sustainable City Outstanding Contribution Award and Achievements Presentation Event was held today at the Taichung City Hall. City Secretary Huang Chongdian presented the award and commended Lin Yueh yi, deputy general manager of Diamond Quantum Biotech Co., Ltd. 14 organizations and individuals recognized the winners for their efforts in building a sustainable net-zero city.
Huang Chongdian pointed out in his speech that Taichung City has organized the Low Carbon Sustainable City Outstanding Contribution Award selection activities since the 103rd year of the Republic of China to encourage people, enterprises or government agencies to actively participate in sustainable development and low carbon city promotion business and other related net-zero transformations. work to jointly build Taichung into a net-zero carbon emission and happy city.
Huang Chongdian said that since the event was held, a total of 49 units have won the Contribution Award, including 9 individuals and 40 institutions and groups. He hopes that companies and the public can learn from it and jointly respond to the sustainable development of the city and net-zero transformation.
The Taichung City Sustainable Development and Low-Carbon City Promotion Office explained that the projects of this year’s award-winning units cover agricultural and food recycling, low-carbon packaging materials, resource reuse, smart manufacturing processes, clean energy, as well as food and agriculture education, renewable energy demonstrations, and ecological greening. Planting, SDGs sustainable development goals, carbon footprint, climate change adaptability and improving air quality, etc.
In addition to awarding awards, today's event also invited award-winning units to display relevant promotion results and actual exhibits, including companies implementing greenhouse gas inventories to reduce emissions year by year, publishing climate-related financial disclosure reports, and introducing sustainable environmentally friendly packaging materials.
